If you don t see this anywhere you may want to try installing the latest driver.
Dell laptop track stick.
The ui is a bit different one the new driver is installed choose pointing devices.
On the mouse properties window go to the device select tab and choose between stick stick and pad or pad only.
As becomes obvious from this supporting document it is perfectly fine that the track stick cap can be removed.
Select the desired settings and click apply 7.
The amount of force required to remove the cap will vary depending on the age of the cap and or laptop.
It should help you understand the uses and settings maybe even instructions on use.
Click on the dell touchpad tab then click device select then under the pointing stick you should have an option to disable it.
My older inspiron allows use of the trackstick much like the touchpad push to control cursor motion and tap it to click.
Then click on the icon for the point stick.
Check mouse properties in control panel.
Unlike other pointing devices it reacts to sustained force or strain rather.
Click the stick tab to adjust the track stick settings 6.
